1. Paper Award War Merit Cross 2nd Class With Swords signed Generalmajor Helmuth Otto Ludwig Weidling u. Komandeur der 86. Inf.- Division. Helmuth Otto Ludwig Weidling (2 November 1891 – 17 November 1955) was a general in the German Army (Wehrmacht Heer) before and during World War II. Weidling was the last commander of the Berlin Defence Area during the Battle of Berlin, and led the defence of the city against Soviet forces, finally surrendering just before the end of World War II in Europe. During his military career, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords.
2. Paper Award Iron Cross Second Class 1939 signed General der Infanterie Otto Schellert. When World War II began, Schellert became commander of Division z. b. V. 405. It was later renamed Division 405. On October 10, 1940, he was first transferred to the Wehrmacht 's leadership reserve . On May 1, 1940 he was put in charge of Division No. 166. All three divisions were training units of the Reserve Army . On January 1, 1941, he was promoted to Generalleutnant . On March 15, 1941, he replaced Generalleutnant Fritz Kühne as commander of the 253rd Infantry Division . The division was at that time in northern France as a garrison unit. In preparation for Operation Barbarossain the spring of 1941 the division was transferred to East Prussia . From June 22, 1941, he took part in the German-Soviet War with his division as part of Army Group North . Schellert was soon awarded both clasps for his Iron Crosses. On December 26, 1941, he received the German Cross in Gold for his service in the Battle of Moscow. On January 1, 1943, like some other older officers, he was transferred from the division commander up on the Eastern Front to the Führerreserve. As part of the "Winter Hardiness" campaign, the Army Personnel Office then transferred those generals "who are unlikely to be able to cope with the high demands of the Russian winter" to the leader reserve or to commands in the reserve army. Schellert was from May 1, 1943 Commanding General of the Deputy General Command of the IX. Army Corps and from Wehrkreis IX based in Kassel.
