Offered is a rare inter war, Wiemar Era German Naval Officers Sword with Scabbard. Lions head, folding guard and lock move solidly with folding lock stamped. The brass wire bound ivorine grip is in good condition (It has three tiny defects). The blade of the saber is straight with no signs of tampering. The engraving on the blade near the base is less visible (traces of corrosion). Details at the top are very nicely visible. The saber has never been disassembled. No foldable shield with anchor. The total length of the saber without the scabbard is 850 mm. Black leather scabbard with three brass fittings. The middle and upper fittings are loose, all three pieces have the same number stamped on them (6). Saber does not slide all the way into the scabbard (leather scabbard has probably shrunk). The seams came apart in some places. To sum up, the Reichsmarine saber is original and can be a decoration for any collection. Despite the shortages, it is still a sought-after rare saber at a fair price. Please take a look at the photos, they are detailed.
