German Binoculars World War I OIGEE Berlin Fernglas 08 No. 460 with regimental stamps, K on one side, 135.R.103 on the other, fully functional.
In 1908, the German administration ordered binoculars (binoculars 08) from Goerz for the infantry. In August 1909, the Galilean model "Fernglas 08" was officially recognized as a Prussian army binocular due to its smaller quantity than prismatic binoculars (e.g. DF 03). In 1916 it became the standard infantry binocular.
