Kriegsmarine Bosun Whistle U-1056
Not available
An original boatswain's whistle from a sailor who served on U-1056, with a nice, even patina.
These whistles were standard issue for all naval petty officers (i.e. petty officers) and were used during drills etc.
German submarine U-1056 was a Type VIIC submarine of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine during World War II. U-1056 was sunk near Gelting in Gelting Bay on 5 May 1945 as part of Operation Regenbogen.
Unlike many other submarines that lost sailors during their service to accidents and other causes, U-1056 suffered no losses (that were known) until its sinking.
