German commemorative badge made in plastic (so-called Tagungsabzeichen or Veranstaltungsabzeichen) from 1939. It was issued to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Freikorps Düsseldorf paramilitary formation (originally active from 1919–1920) and the consecration ceremony of the standard (Fahnenweihe). This event took place during the Third Reich, as directly reflected by the swastika at the bottom.
Description and inscriptions on the badge: Upper part: Coat of arms depicting two four-leaf clovers. Traditional geometric decorations (meanders) are visible on the sides of the shield. The dates on the sides are: 1919 (the year of the Freikorps' founding) and 1939 (the year of the anniversary celebration). Main text (in German): "GRÜNDUNGSFEIER / 20 JAHRE / FREIKORPS DÜSSELDORF / U. FAHNENWEIHE / IN DÜSSELDORF / a. 12. März/39" Translation: "Founding ceremony / 20 years / Freikorps Düsseldorf / and consecration of the banner / in Düsseldorf / on 12 March 1939."
Bottom: The badge is framed by oak leaves (a common motif in German military and patriotic symbolism), and at the very bottom is a swastika inscribed in a rhombus.
