German membership badge of the NSKG (Nationalsozialistische Kulturgemeinde – National Socialist Cultural Community). This is a rare, first version of this badge, dating from the period of the Third Reich.
In the center of the badge is a stylized temple/museum building (referring to the classical architecture of Munich as the "Capital of the Movement" and city of art), placed against a background of a swastika. The letters N, S, K, and G are arranged around the composition. History of the organization: The NSKG was founded in 1934 from the merger of smaller National Socialist cultural organizations. Its main goal was to control, shape, and promote cultural and artistic life in the Third Reich. In 1937, it was incorporated into the organization Kraft durch Freude (KdF). Version: This is a rare, first version of this badge. It was most often produced from bronze or zinc by the famous numismatic company C. Poellath from Schrobenhausen, which is usually confirmed by the signature on the reverse.
